Purchasing Environmental Overview

A common first step in a best practices evaluation is to complete a Purchasing Environmental Overview which includes specific spend analyses by technology, parts and the client’s top 80% spend suppliers.  Background reports are written on the customer’s top suppliers by pulling information from the customer’s own purchasing department, directly from the suppliers (Supplier Profile) and from financial data from SEC filings.      

Commodity Business and Supplier Sourcing Plans

HRG works with the client’s corporate goals, the Environmental Overview and input from company stakeholders to develop commodity and sourcing plans for those commodities that have been identified as key technology or spend areas. These plans should include sections on spend analysis with future trends, technology spend with trends, plans for moving to 3^rd party logistics, quality snap-shot, supply base flexibility with future plans, cost reduction initiatives, sourcing plans,  commodity management organization and a well articulated plan describing how commodity management will support corporate goals and strategies.
